From Burnout to Career Boom

  • Melbourne

In this members only business networking club I'll share my story of anxiety, depression, burnout and the lessons I learned along the way to creating Happiness Concierge. Brand You Masterclass Melbourne

  • Gravity Co Working
  • Private session of maximum 6 participants
  • Take your recorded elevator pitch home with you
  • Workshop challenges with other professionals in a closed setting
  • Confidential discussion in a private environment

In this workshop, we work on your personal profile at work and identify tactical ways to increase your Profile, Perception and Networks at work.

This is very popular with senior executives who prefer to have a setting away from work to discuss challenges in a small setting. Individuals from ANZ, Reserve Bank of Australia, RMIT University and WINK Models have all been through this training to get noticed at work and clear on their career objectives.

We will create your own elevator pitch which outlines your accomplishments, look at ways of working to get noticed and talk about opportunities to extend your network and influence at work.

A number of workplaces send individuals who are looking for opportunities to improve their communication skills, communicate their expertise, gain confidence or identify ways to get noticed for the great work they're doing.

Tickets are $349 each. 9am (coffee, settle in) for a 9.30am start and snacks are provided.

Confirm your place by clicking on the 'buy now' button now which will ask you for your email and payment. If an invoice is required, simply fill in the form and I'll arrange.

Questions? Would like to be invoiced instead? Let me know and I'll arrange!

This is a session of up to six participants in Sydney. The objective of a smaller group is to ensure you receive dedicated time to nail your elevator pitch and practice saying it out loud in the confines of an intimate group. Often smaller groups enable people to feel more confident practicing saying it out loud for the first time.

In this session, we will cover:

  • How to be perceived as an expert in your field (what you need to communicate)
  • What is your elevator pitch? (we will write this together in the session)
  • How you can get noticed at work if you work for someone else
  • How you can get noticed in the industry if you work for yourself
  • Practice saying your elevator pitch out loud and get support from the group on how to take this into your work / industry.

You will receive a recording of your elevator pitch to rehearse at home, a worksheet with templates and a summary of everything we discussed on the day.

Teams from Reserve Bank of Australia, WINK Models and General Assembly have all completed this training.

What previous participants have said:

What prompted you to book / attend the session? I was interested in learning how to get my elevator pitch to be succinct and yet reflective of the varied aspects of my role.

How did you feel after the session? I felt empowered! Rachel is so positive and her optimism is contagious. I was super lucky to attend a session that only had 4 of us there and so the attention Rachel was able to give us was on point.

What was the most helpful part of the session? The elevator pitch format - I still think I will need to refine it (and learn it off by heart) but at least I now have a good structure to use.

What prompted you to book / attend the session? To learn new / more ways to promote myself without being perceived as arrogant.

How did you feel after the session? More confident to do so as I've learnt a few more techniques.

What was the most helpful part of the session? The hands-on session to work on my speech about who I am and what I do.  It was well-balanced with good examples, well-paced, interesting and engaging. I also like the chance to work on my "brand speech".

The idea of promoting yourself feels uncomfortable for many people. The reality is though, if you wait for others to ‘discover’ what you’re good at; you’ll be waiting forever.

Whether it’s career progression, board positions, speaking opportunities, landing that book deal, or simply getting paid to do what you love, people need to know who you are and what you do.

This workshop will share tactical tips people can get the word out about what they do - in a way that feels authentic and is easy.

We'll cover:

  • Your USP: what do you do, that is different to anyone else in your field?
  • Your catchphrase: how to 'bucket' your intelligence into palatable info for people to remember
  • Choose your outlet: you don’t need to use every marketing channel, you could choose from social media, EDM’s, website, LinkedIn, media, reviews
  • Media 101: basic overview of what media to target and how to reach out
  • LinkedIn 101: an overview of how to use it

While this is primarily focussed for business owners, senior leaders or freelancers who would like to generate interest or press around their product or service, the workshop will also touch on tactics to articulate and communicate your value at work if you work for a larger organisation, how to get noticed for promotions and authentically network so you are in a position to leverage contacts should a new job opportunity present itself in future.

Communicating with clients

  • melbourne australia

Managing expectations is one of the most challenging aspects of any freelance / agency / client relationship.

In this talk, Freelance Motion Designer Dylan Mercer and myself as a Freelance.org.au Advisory Board member will outline some of their top tips for communicating with clients to deliver great work, including managing scope creep, saying no, fees, deliverables, timelines, getting more work after the job is complete and how to have challenging conversations.

Following the talk Dylan and I will hold a Q&A to discuss challenges attendees wish to workshop.

If you would like to have your question workshopped on the evening, please email rachel@happinessconcierge.com.au or come along to join the discussion!
